The SafeSport Training is valid for 1 season. 

MAHA strongly encourages and invites all of our members to participate in the SafeSport training program. The material is extremely valuable and informative, and we ask your assistance in encouraging others to view the 16 short video segments and complete the training.  All total, the program takes approximately 90 minutes, but does not need to be completed in one session.

Safe Sport Training is MANDATORY for all coaches, referee’s and volunteers that have contact with youth. Coaches are NOT ALLOWED on the ice for practices, games, stick n puck, etc… , until training is completed. As such, a coach will not be rostered to a team until training is completed. “Volunteers” may include, but not limited to, Team Managers, practice coaches, parent coaches, Local assoc board members, Employees of rinks, etc. If you are unsure if you are REQUIRED to take the training, contact your local coordinator.

Making this online training/education available to our members is one of the most exciting aspects of the USA Hockey SafeSport Program as it provides the information needed to help prevent abuse. The training was produced by the United States Olympic Committee, which has also helped to make the program available to our members at no cost.
